Pešková, Sára ; Havlová, Radka (advisor) ; Novotná, Yvona (referee)
The aim of the thesis is to analyse the impact of the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza in 2005. This work is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. The first part deals with selected issues of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict by 2005, such as historical landmarks, especially the first Israeli-Arab war and the Six Day War, the international legal status of Gaza, on which a consensus did not exist and policy of the Jewish settlements. The practical part is specifically dedicated to the process of withdrawal and its impact on Israeli-Palestinian relations, especially on the economic situation and the lives of Palestinians in Gaza. Important attention is paid to the current situation of bilateral relations and the future of the Gaza Strip. The work is supplemented by pictorial documentation, selected UN resolutions and statistical data.
